System springs

System springs, they have rectangle cross sections. Produced according to ISO 10243 which defines its diameter, length and strength. This standard defines four series of springs, which when of same size they are interchangeable offering different forces. These four series are each one colour for an easy identification of the type of spring.

Inside the family of rectangle cross section springs there is a fifth serie which is superstrong, which with equivalent sizes to the other four series it offers a force up to four times the one of their strongest serie.

Also there is another type of system spring which follows the same rules as the previous, but this type has an oval cross section which keeping the same sizes it offers alternative forces and strokes.

System springs with rectangle cross section

All springs are made of steel alloy wires (Cr-V/Cr-Si). This wire is especially resistant to impacts and deformations. Thanks to its quality it can work in high temperature conditions, up to 230ºC. The springs are treated thermally and put through a "shot peened" process aswell as preloaded. All that removes tensions and achieves high fatigue limits.

Usage recommendations:

  • Select the longest possible spring with the lowest possible force, resulting in a smaller ammount of work.

  • Preload the spring; at least a 5% of its length with a 2 mm minimum.

  • Prevent total deflection from being greater from the maximum recommended.

Helical Springs

Spring wire grade C Din 17223. Available with different standard diameters and lengths. It is also possible to supply springs with lengths of 500 mm which can after be cut to the required size. Standard springs have flattned edges, prepared to be used. When it comes to the 500 mm springs, they are yet to be treated due to their purpose which is: Being cut by the user.

Springs with round cross section SZ-8100 and SZ-8101

Round cross section helical springs offer the best attributes because they have a lower tension when compared to the others.

The range SZ-8100 is available with exterior diameters of sizes between 10 to 84 mm and lengths from 24 to 200 mm, offering forces up to 6.620 N. Springs in the range SZ-8101offer the same diameters and a length of 500 mm. Their purpose is to be cut according to the requirements.

Springs with square cross section SZ-8200 and SZ-8201

Similar tolerance to Din 2095. Helical square cross section springs have greater tensions than the ones with round cross sections. Life span of this springs is slightly shorter due to a worse tension distribution along the spring.

Range SZ-8200 is available in exterior diameters of 10 to 70 mm and lengths of 20 to 120 mm, offering forces up to 5.010 N. Springs in the range SZ-8201 offer the same diameters and a length of 500 mm. Their purpose is to be cut according to the requirements.

Springs with oval cross section SZ-8400 and SZ-8401

Springs with oval cross section SZ-8400 and SZ-8401Helical oval cross section springs have greater tensions than the ones with round cross sections. Life span of this springs is slightly shorter due to a worse tension distribution along the spring.

Range SZ-8400 is available in exterior diameters of 11 to 50 mm and lengths of 20 to 230 mm, offering forces up to 3.440 N. Springs in the range SZ-8401 offer the same diameters and a length of 500 mm. Their purpose is to be cut according to the requirements.
