Gas springs nitrogen cylinders

Gas springs are cylinders which have been pre-loaded with nitrogen at a certain pressure, so that the head of the cylinder acts as a spring.

Nitrogen cylinders have a durability advantage over traditional wire springs, as they can be reloaded if a performance loss is noticed with time, and returned to initial conditions.

Polyurethane and rubber elastomer springs

Elastomers are designed to absorb forces, they absorb impact forces aswell as continous forces.

Elastomers can be used to substitute helical springs aswell as for energy absorption or damping in multiple applications.

The main contrast between these and steel springs is that the elastomers are more reliable in emergency situations because of their longer life being unattended. Elastomers have a maximum load resistance aswell as an excelent impact absorption capacity

Our elastomers have a high resistance to oil, cracking and heat. Their capacity to withstand heat is a minimum of a constant 80ºC temperature. all standard pieces are based on DIN 9835 standards.

NORMALISED SERIES

We have two standardized sizes with standard market measures. These elastomers, also known as rubber and polyurethane cylinders, present/display a series of measures, with two different hardness's', to cover the most common necessities:
Serie SZ 8500

Serie SZ 8500 Material used for production: Chloroprene (CR). Final hardness: 70 +/- 3 Shore A. These are known as rubber spring.


Serie SZ 8590Serie SZ 8590 Material used for production: VULKOLAN. Final hardness: 90 +/- 5 Shore A. These are known as polyurethane spring.

We also offer special sizes with different hardnesses. This type of pieces are usually designed to absorb energy in small strokes to improve the life span of equipement or machinery, exposed to vibrations.

We can recommend the elastomer which most suits each customer, which best adapts to the usage conditions with a goal to obtain a stable performace within long periods of time even under harsh conditions.

Buffer spring - volute spring

Buffer SpringsBuffer Springs or Volute Springs are also known by the following descriptions: Strip Spring, Conic strip spring, Dumper Spring, Buffer Spring, or originally named as Puffer Federn..Volute Springs

A buffer spring or volute spring is made from a thin strip of iron, rolled in a spiral over the same stripped side, in the way that the turns make a cone one inside the other with a flat base. Since the strips do not superimpose, the closed height of the spring is equal to the width of the strips from which it is conformed.

One of the characteristics of this type of spring is that it has a variable force constant, because as it increases the deflexion the quantity of active strips decreases, for which the elastic constant will be variable.

Volute SpringsAnother characteristic to highlight of the buffer spring or volute spring is that if the strips are enrolled within themselves in such a way that they have contact, so that they rub against each other, the generated friction can be used to absorb vibrations or other unwanted perturbations.

Due to this friction these springs are not recommended for continuous dynamic Works. Nevertheless, we can manufacture springs with free space between the strips in order to have a friction-free spring if necessary for dynamic work.

Spring wire grade C Din 17223. Available with different standard diameters and lengths. It is also possible to supply springs with lengths of 500 mm which can after be cut to the required size. Standard springs have flattned edges, prepared to be used. When it comes to the 500 mm springs, they are yet to be smoothed due to their purpose which is: Being cut by the user.


 

 

 

System springs, they have rectangle cross sections. Produced according to ISO 10243 which defines its diameter, length and strength. This standard defines four series of springs, which when of same size they are interchangeable offering different forces. These four series are each one colour for an easy identification of the type of spring.

Inside the family of rectangle cross section springs there is a fifth serie which is superstrong, which with equivalent sizes to the other four series it offers a force up to four times the one of their strongest serie.

Also there is another type of system spring which follows the same rules as the previous, but this type has an oval cross section which keeping the same sizes it offers alternative forces and strokes.

Disc Springs, also known as Din 2093 spring washers or Disc Springs, are conical washers that offer an elastic proportional force to the deformation which they are subjected in the same axial direction. They are able to be used stacked so that allows us to adapt them to our needs. Related to the theoretical values, they are extremely precise pieces. They are designed to support a high number of cycles. Their fundamental characteristic is that you can obtain large values of force in small spaces. Its manufacturing procedures are defined by DIN 2093.

Belleville Din 6796 washers or pressure washers, have as a function to avoid the loss of preload between a screw and a nut or in any other type of union that allows its placement, by applying a permanent pressure on both. They ensure that the subject parts remain fixed despite vibrations or other forms of relaxation that can appear with the passage of time. Although its appearance is very similar to the disc springs, its characteristics are very different because they are not prepared for dynamic work. Its manufacturing procedures are defined by DIN 6796.
