The acronym 'TDI' temperature indicator derives from the English language and means Thermal Disinfection Indicator.
This temperature sensor is commonly used by catering companies, canteens, restaurants, airlines, hospitals, schools and in the food industry in general. It is used to control the sanitizing of cutlery, glasses, dishes and cooking utensils inside industrial dishwashers.
In the food industry, the need of hygiene and safety compliant to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles are aimed at ensuring the absence of bacteria, virus or toxic particulates in the utensils coming in contact with food. This is essential to ensure their hygiene and avoid problems of public health.
Industrial dishwashers come with their own temperature sensors. Nevertheless, they not always detect the correct temperature due to their position or overuse. They sometimes measure the temperature of the water correctly, but without taking into account the heat loss occurring when the water gets in contact with the utensils on the tray.
